What I Ate Yesterday
Since I suck at updating with any frequency, I'm gonna try to do a "What I Ate Yesterday" update once a week. Heh. We'll see if it lasts... Yesterday I ate:

Breakfast:
Coffee at the Coffee House Cafe while reading the newspaper alone because my sweet daughter started preschool!
Berries GoMega Odwalla Bar

Lunch:
Leftover Mocked Clam Chowder from Sarah Kramer's new book, La Dolce Vegan. It's real good.
Toasted Sprouted Bread with Earth Balance

Dinner:
Not Your Mama's Bean Soup (new recipe for book numero dos)
Homemade "Buttermilk" Barley Bread with Earth Balance
Beer!

Dessert:
Hazelnut Bundt Cake (found recipe in paper I read at breakfast)
Coconut Whipped Cream
Beer!

It was all really yum. The coconut whipped cream really rocked my world. I had read about a method online and decided to try it. Oh my. Go try it now... Chill a can of coconut milk in the fridge for several hours. Throw your mixing bowl and beaters in there, too. When ready to whip, open can and scoop out hardened cream. Save the liquid milk for another time (really good in smoohties, as I discovered today). Put cream in mixing bowl with some vanilla and sweetener. Whip unti smooth. It comes out just like barely whipped cream. Now I know what I'm putting on my pumpkin pie.

31-year-old Myq Kaplan finished in the top 5 of the latest season of Last Comic Standing. Kaplan has appeared on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and had a Comedy Central Presents special. And get this: he makes jokes about vegans that are actually funny. Could be because he’s a vegan [...]
An Interview with Myq Kaplan
In my ongoing attempt to review stuff that was sent to me a long time ago and should have been reviewed back then, I thought I’d write up a few notes on a couple of bars that were sent to me earlier in the year to try.First up is the PranaBar, one of the many [...]
Bar Review: PranaBars and Bora Bora bars
Over the weekend, Stephanie over at Animal Rights and AntiOppression shared a video (embedded at the end of this post), which comes courtesy of the Tribe of Heart folks. In the video, James LaVeck discusses an event held by the Ohioans for Humane Farming, a “coalition of animal welfare, family farming, food safety, and [...]
